Where are your products made?

All of our CHICKPEA products are lovingly handmade to order from our garden studio in Hampshire, England. From start to finish, the knitting, washing, stretching, pinning, sewing and finishing of each item is attended to by Harriett and the team. Being so hands-on with each individual item ensures that we are able to guarantee the quality and comfort that CHICKPEA products have become known for.

What are your products made from?

All of our CHICKPEA products are made from the finest merino lambswool. Our wool is sourced from a family-run textile mill in Yorkshire who spin the finest natural raw materials into the highest quality yarns that we love to use; none of their processes use azo dyes, formaldehyde, carcinogenic, hazardous or allergy inducing products, ensuring that the yarn is incredibly environmentally friendly and usable by as many people as possible.

Can I wash your products?

Yes. In order to protect the lambswool from felting and shrinking, we recommend only washing your CHICKPEA product on a cold, delicates wash. Not adhering to this can cause the wool to felt, which can drastically misshapen and shrink the fabric which cannot be undone. If unsure, then it is recommended to hand-wash and spot clean using cold water and a light detergent.

Do your hot water bottle covers come with a bottle included?

So that you can enjoy your CHICKPEA hot water bottle cover as soon as you receive it, we include a complimentary natural rubber hot water bottle with every order. Our hot water bottle covers are made to contain a standard 2L sized bottle, which is accessed via the flap on the reverse side of the cover. If you already have a bottle at home and do not wish to have one sent with your order, please feel free to make a note of this at the checkout and we will just send your new CHICKPEA cover.

How should I look after the rubber hot water bottle?

To ensure the longevity of any hot water bottle, it is imperative that you follow some important rules. These include, but are not limited to: never overfilling, never use boiling water, never over tighten the cap, store in a cool, dry location that is not susceptible to hot or cold temperatures, dry out the bottle after each use, and never lie or sit on the bottle.
